Default Consumer Reports for 2017

They downgraded their predicted reliability for new models from 4/5 stars in 2016 to 2/5 stars in 2017. Conversely, the Silverado went from 2/5 (fair) to 3/5 (good). Wut? The 2015-2016 F-150 models now have an overall predicted reliability factor of "fair" (2014 is "very good") yet there's only one category among both model years with a "fair" rating - the audio.

What's the deal?? I usually trust CR, but seems like they're having sampling issues. Having personally experienced the Sync and XM issues in my XL, I don't feel like that's enough to downgrade the reliability that much. Sunroof issues only affect vehicles with sunroofs...I'm not sure if something arose in the 2011s, but given the 2015 redesign, I'm not sure how much 2011 affects the 2015s.

What else am I missing??

Not trying to raise a ruckus and sorry if this has already been discussed at length. Just frustrated given their rating played a part into my purchase.

PS: Funny to me that customer satisfaction is 5/5 on the F-150. I always figured those went hand-in-hand with reliability. Guess not.

I'm sure it is related to all the 2017's being held at the factory for the 10 speed trans issues.
