Constant rattle after phaser replacement

Default Constant rattle after phaser replacement

Just finished replacing the cam phasers on my 2017 3.5 ecoboost and now i have a constant rattle on the drive side. The other side doesnt make any noise has anyone ever experienced this or have any ideas?

Have a code that supports the noise by description? Either VCT or Cam position on that bank?
Did you clamp the Cams before removing the chains and Phaser?
Was Chain and Phaser alignment done according to instructions?

I was out at my shop and didnt have a code reader at the time i gotta go read the codes still but yes it was set to tdc with cam locks on and all timing marks lined up perfectly with new phasers, chains, and tensioners. I also replaced solenoids while i was in there

That sound is very disconcerting, I would take your truck to a professional. Many dealerships have one tech that only does cam phasers and many have one tech that only does transmissions. They repair these items all week long.

Well i finally got time to rip it apart again and found a faulty tensioner that was brand new from ford put a new one in and it runs great
