I have a free standing gun box that I would like to bolt down to the bottom of my console. I was thinking I could use self tapping bolts and just screw it to the bottom. But I am not sure what might be below the console floor.
Has anyone mounted anything to the bottom of the console?
Any thoughts on what might be damaged by running screws through the bottom.
I already have this box, and it does not take up all the space in the console.
The tray still works as well as a lot of the space under it...
Im just not sure what is under the console that i would be screwing into.
You want to mount to the plastic or the AI bottom? There is a TSB on mounting to the AI and I don't think self tapping screws were recommended. Just my opinion but what good is a locked up gun anyways?

Im not sure what you mean by AI bottom...
looking at the bottom of the console, i don't see any screws at all, its just a smooth plastic bottom...
I was thinking about 3M VHB mounting tape, and just sticking it to the plastic.
Thats the same tape used to mount the emblems on the outside of the truck.
Pretty tough stuff.

He's referring to the aluminum floor...............I would like the number of that TSB as I would like to mount some stuff in the bed
