Default Concern with new truck

Hey,

Last month I bought a new 2016 f150 ecoboost supercrew with Sports package. I need to know if what I dscribe below is normal or is wrong and I need to see the dealership.

When I lift up the backseat, put my head down and look towards the back of the cab, I see the attached image of wood and metal. What is this??? Why is there exposed metal and wood?

The metal looks like sound deadening material. The wood is quite interesting though, as I was unaware of any wood inside of vehicles.

I lifted my seats the other day to vacuum dog hair and I noticed the wood against the back wall of the cabin too.

Notice the holes in the wood evenly centered?

That's not wood. The sealer they use for the cab is tan.

Now I need to go out and look under my rear seat.

Some good replies so far, can anyone tell me if they have the same thing in their truck? When I touch it, it feels like wood.

I've had my cab gutted for audio upgrades, the silver you see is sound deadening, and the tan is just sealer. Notice how you can see the rivets holding the rear cab wall to the floor with the tan sealer overtop.
