Default Computer Overload (Platinum)

I let my almost two year old grandson sit in my 2016 Platinum the other night. He was having fun mashing buttons, turning the radio on and off and up and down. At one point I hit the auto start to watch his facial expression so he was mashing buttons with the truck on too (supervised).

Well, after he left I notice the puddle lights were on., figured a door was open or something. I got in to leave and started noticing more weird things including

- Climate control not working
- Drivers running board would not retract
- Front windows would not go down (rear would)
- Console lights would go off and come back on
- Airbag light stayed on

Anyway, I'm a computer guy by trade so I went to the fundamental... reboot - took off the negative battery terminal for about five minutes and put it back on. All seems to be good again.

I used to let my granddaughter do the same thing in my 2010 Lariat and never had any issues, but there was a lot less going on in there.

Lesson learned...

Default Possessed Platinum F150

I have had two problems similar in nature. The first time the following happened after disconnecting trailer from 4 pin harness. "trailer connected" message then shortly after that:

Running Boards would not deploy or retract; Airbag(s) warning light on dash was lit; Climate Control System, both Heat and Cooling was out of service; Front Windows would not respond to controls; Seat Comfort functions did not work; Mirror adjustment and retraction inoperable; Back-up System and warnings inoperable; Cross Traffic System fault; Blind Spot Warning error
After a wiring harness was replaced (battery disconnected too) truck "worked but only for a few miles. I plugged trailer to 4 pin connector. The second time another array of features went out/crazy. First I got the "trailer disconnected" message... then
Warning messages began to appear on the driver’s display screen saying, “your vehicle is not in park”, “check manual”, “Downhill Assist not operational”. Then the lights went out, the truck lost power (the engine was still running), it shifted into Downhill Assist, front windows didn’t work, passenger seat moved by itself, driver’s seat began to go back as if the truck was turned off, then it returned to driving position, the Sync display went dead and came back on, the Driver’s display shut down and came back on. All these things continued to repeat as bells sounded and I limped back to my son’s house.
Back to the dealer and another harness was replaced. Got truck back and drove about 800 miles never having trailer on the truck. Then one day got the "trailer disconnect" message (remember there has been no trailer on truck since last fix). The following day I start to get other messages on the dash "Cross Traffic System Fault" and "Blind Spot detection disabled"... Then all the same thing that happened the first time reoccurred.
Running Boards would not deploy or retract; Airbag(s) warning light on dash was lit; Climate Control System, both Heat and Cooling was out of service; Front Windows would not respond to controls; Seat Comfort functions did not work; Mirror adjustment and retraction inoperable; Back-up System and warnings inoperable; Cross Traffic System fault; Blind Spot Warning error.
Possessed truck back to the dealer... I am beginning to think there is a relationship to the 4 pin connector and possibly the Brake Control unit. I have had 3 different trailers on the truck in 36,000 miles prior to this event. All have been connected via the 7 pin plug without an issue.
Any of these issues or messages happen with your truck?

Default Update and hopefully final solution

Truck is home after nearly 3 weeks (3rd visit). This is what was done. I had seen the same fix to another owners post from 2015.
