Comparison to Tucson
Just got a Tucson in the family... I have to say, that at 1/3 the cost of my truck, there are some things that Hyundai has done so much better than Ford. Don't get me wrong... I am not trading my truck for a Tucson, but just hoping that Ford can improve some of these things... many can be done with software updates.
1) Since I bought my F150, every time I use the wiper stick or head light ****... I think to myself... I wish they would pop up a graphic in the dash that showed the switch position... you NEVER know what setting the wipers are on... and it is dangerous to try to look at the head light switch while driving... and since the switches are just inputs to the computer, this should be easy! Then the first time I set wipers in our Tucson, there it is! Right in front of me. Just plain logical!
2) I pressed the cooled seats button in the Tucson... not expecting much. WOW! Within 30 seconds my bottom AND BACK were cool. SO much better than my F-150.
3) The backup camera... SO CLEAR! Day and night! My F150 I can barely make out anything in the image at night.
4) Compass on the dash... very minor, but instead of just 8 point like F150, it shows 24 points.
5) Plugged my iPhone in to charge and without doing anything else, CarPlay popped up on the screen... as if to taunt me and rub it in that my 3x more expensive F150 can't do that...
6) Downhill braking control built in... no need to add on a button and forescan settings like I'd have to do in my 3x more expensive F150.
7) Automatic pedestrian detection and autonomous braking... Tucson has it. F150 has all the sensors... but does not do braking...
8) Nav screen is more modern looking than Sync 3 Nav. Radio is also more modern and intuitive.
9) Built in BlueLink... like SyncConnect.
To be fair, there are some tech drawbacks... Tucson does not have FOB remote start option... even though everything is there to do it.. they want to sell you the iPhone remote package instead. And no parking assist... but with the Tucson, no one should ever need it.
Just some comparison thoughts... I really hope there is a software update for the 2016 F150 at some point that will give us some upgraded functionality... but I seriously doubt it... other than the Sync software... one day... may be.

I have driven a lot of vehicles, not one of them has ever showed what setting the wipers are set at in the dash.
As far as the rest of the stuff goes, fair enough. But what I've found with Hyundai's in the past is it will look and function well for the first year or two, then the quality really starts to decline.

On the wiper issue, yeah.. I agree.. I have never seen it either. But in F150 with the adaptive speeds, I NEVER know what setting it is on... it seems to always be off by one from what i need. And the stick shows nothing. i was very surprised to see it on the Tucson. Just a smart convenience item.
