Default Cold air filter Kit question

Hello, can someone help me decide? I know that there are many posts on the subject, but I am undecided. I don't know which cold air kit to buy for my ford f150 2015 5.0. which one Sounds better? Is there a difference regarding horsepower? Also, my truck is in tune with SCT 5startuning performance 87 and 93. Do I have to re-tune/re-calibrate my truck if I add the cold air intake?
---- 2015-2017 F-150 5.0L V8 ROUSH Cold Air Intake Kit $449.99

or the

---- SB 75-5083 Cold Air Intake for 2015-2017 Ford F-150 5.0L $349.00

No re-tune should be needed. I have had the JLT and S&B on my truck. Both are good, the JLT is a little less "refined" looks wise and is louder than the S&B. The S&B is a museum quality piece of art. I have heard the Roush is just stupidly obnoxious...........

Oh and a bunch of dumb@#&# will show up telling you not to use an aftermarket cold air intake, but just remember, it's not their money you are spending, it's yours. They do help with about 10hp (dyno proven numbers when you search) when paired with a tune. Aftermarket intakes should be thought of as pretty noise makers that have serviceable filters and aid in a slight performance gain. They do not however take the place of a supercharger or turbo.

Check with 5 star, maybe they have tested their tune with a particular intake.

My vote is for the S&B as well. Just know that you're paying for not much more than the looks/sounds. Don't go into it thinking you're going to be shaving anything off your 1/4 mile time.

If you think that, get ahold of closed AFE. They make the S&B feel/look cheap.

Either intake is perfectly fine. A lot of it depends on how much you want to spend. Roush, S&B, JLT, AFE, PMAS, Banks, etc. they'll all produce basically identical results. Closed boxes are throaty but tame. Open elements tend to whistle a lot and can be very annoying. I've been running a carbon fiber piece from DDR Performance for awhile now and though it's an open element it doesnt whistle but it does bellow/resonate quite a lot. I actually have an AFE closed box setup showing up today to replace it for daily use. I personally prefer dry filters vs oiled, you won't see any performance difference but cleaning is easier. Oiling filters is just annoying. Dry filter I can blow out, put through my filter wash bucket quick, rinse and let it dry before slapping it back on.
Pick your piece based on what you like aesthetically, what fits your budget and what you think you can live with. Filter media by preference

Had the afe Magnum dry filter on my 2020 5.0. I wound up taking it off due to the noise that resonated in the cabin at WOT. Will be trying to sell it probably on here or ebay. It was very good quality and cleaned up the engine bay for sure.

My suggestion is to save your money. But if you had to have one between those two, the s&b was good on my tacoma.
