Default Code:P1534 - Restraint Deployment Indicator Circuit

Hi, Forscan is giving me this alarm:
Code: P1534 - Restraint Deployment Indicator Circuit
Additional Fault Symptom:
- General Electrical Failure
Status:
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
Module: Instrument Panel Control Module

Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of it? I tried reseting the module and clearing the error, but it keeps coming back. What does it mean?

A lot of words to confuse you.
The key word is >>circuit<<.
A circuit fault.
You cannot clear a code that indicates a hard fault until that fault has been cleared.
Once a clear has has been done, the system looks at it again and resets it.
It's the purpose of the code!

my honest to god advice, if you are not sure of what you are doing, take it to the dealer to have it looked at, if you test the wrong circuit with the airbag system, you will end up making a very very expensive mistake

Hi, I agree and i am not willing to test circuits, I am willing to check connections or replace a module. Anything beyond that, i would have the dealer look at it.

Another thing to mention is that I am hearing 5 chimes at startup. Might be related.

does your airbag light self test when you turn the key on? The 5 chimes is a fail safe to let you know theres an issue and the light doesnt work
