I experience issues with Code P0420/430, which causes the check engine light on and off . Is it a catalytic converter issue or an O2 sensor problem? I’m thinking about replacing the catalytic converter with an aftermarket product. Do you have any recommendations or experience with this?

 

I had misfires on bank 1 years ago. Replaced the bank 1 O2 sensor and it never came back ...

 

I had the P0430 code that would come on about once a month and then started every few days on my 2018 5.0. I finally ordered a cat from RockAuto and changed it out as well as new O2 sensors and no codes or issues since. Truck runs and drives so much better since the change. RockAuto has great prices. Thanks @artsr2002, you are correct. I ordered the Walker brand and for my 2018 5.0, it fit perfectly. For the O2 sensors, one of them was the Bosch brand and I can't remember the other one.
