Default Clunky Sun Visor

Does anyone else have a driver's sun visor that clunks annoyingly over bumps when it is deployed?

Any easy fixes?

I guess my extended warranty should cover it, but it will probably be a pain in the neck to get handled.

Thanks!

Other than the clunk or rattle or whatever that you can get when the visor is not secured in it's little whatever you call it I can't figure out what could be clunking.

I have plenty of creeks, thumps and rattles but never from the sun visor. I did replace mine too and does not seem like there is much there. You might try to pull it off and attach it again to see if that helps.

Make sure the visor is secure in its docking catch on the ceiling right above the windshield.
Other than that you might have a loose defective visor hinge.
Once the visor is docked, try wiggling it to see where any play comes from.
Not rocket science.

There is definitely some play in the left end of the sunvisor.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success in shimming it to quiet it down.

If the truck is still under the bumper/bumper warranty have Ford fix it.
Otherwise.... shim? shim where? The mounting bracket? The swivel parts? etc.
Without detailed description or preferably a picture of the exact area where the play is located, its hard to to give advice over the internet.
