Default The CLuNk!

Newbie here to the forum, hello all .

So I have a few issues with my truck and wondering if other are experiencing the same things as I am.

My truck 2015 SCREW 3.5 ECO with the 3.55 locking rear end. Owned for 3 months and have 10,500 miles on it so far.

First issue is the drive line clunk. Now I had this in my 2011 f150 but it only did it when I started from a stop. This truck I can do it on demand going down the road. Example: cruising down the expressway at 60mph slightly take the foot on and off the gas will produce this clunk. At times it is pretty loud.

Second issue is the steering clunk feeling in the steering wheel. This happens when you hit small bumps or the cracks in the road. It produces and hollow clunk feeling. Its odd because I swear I can hear it but the wife can't.

I read up and several of these issues and most of them seem to be on early generation trucks. I haven't seen much on this generation yet. I have brought it to the dealer and they either can't feel or hear it or say its normal. It depends on which person you talk to at the dealer.

Any help or information is appreciated.

You mean I'm not alone? I've heard this a few times. I started driving from a stop light today and heard a clunk. Thought I just hit a bump in the road. I hear it from time to time. Sometimes when I first start driving. Thought it was just me hitting the gas too much and not being used to a Ford F-150...

The drive line cluck has been talked about before. There should be done threads on it somewhere around here. Something about drive shaft splines needing greased.

I've seen the steering issue mentioned once or twice and it was resolved with a new steering box in one case. I know there was a problem with welds on the intermediate steering shafts too ... but that may have been on the Expedition, not the F150. I've read stuff about both.

I had a loud clunk in the rear when I went over bumps or driving on uneven surfaces. The dealer replaced the rear leaf springs and the noise went away.
