Default climate control question

Hi, Long time follower first time poster. I want the automatic climate control but I don't need dual zone like the lariat. Can I just replace my temp **** with an auto temp ****? This is all I am looking for, just something where I can set the temp instead of me having to always adjust the dial. Is it as easy as replacing the temp **** or will I also have to go into Forscan and set it up? I tried the searches but it seams like most people want to replace the entire bezel with a Lariat bezel. I have a 2018 XLT. Thanks

Michael

The controls are in the circuit boards which are part of the FCIM (bezel). Changing the **** won't work for what you want.

Do you have heated seats? If you swap the FCIM to the auto-climate control that module does not operate the heated seats. That module uses a separate seat control module mounted under the front seat to control climate controlled (heated/cooled) seats.

I do have heated seats, I'll probably just leave and hope that my next truck has it....I kept my last truck for 12 years though so I have 8 more years before replacing this one.

thanks for that info. I know just what they are talking about, I used Forscan to turn on the icon for the heated steering wheel for my wife's Explorer.....it doesn't have a heated steering wheel but was fun just to mess with her.....I actually got Forscan so I could put navigation on the Ex since it didn't come with it from the factory, not very useful now with android auto and google maps but nice to have.
