Is a scanner required or can you just remove the negative battery wire overnight? Thanks

Wouldn't you want to know what caused it first? Or do you.

I do know. Nothing serious. Problem fixed. Truck is in garage now with battery disconnected. Just wondering if that would clear it. I know it used to, just not sure on the newer trucks

Depending on what it was,, some CELs need to have a few run cycles with no code thrown and will then clear themselves.

Yes a scanner or if you have a hand held programmer like a sct then can also clear the codes for you as well as tell you what code you have and give you a discription
