So there is a silver lining, the total to do chrome delete project was under $1k so I did save $7k (I consider that a win). To those asking about the grill, I purchased it from ebay (galaxy moto). Cheers!
Why the need for bumper caps?

It was two fold, I preffered the black center and I like how the caps make the bumper almost "flush" across the width. If you look at the solid bumper you will notice that it dips in at the ends.

Here is a pic of the cap up close youll notice it brings the end closer to the center black section.

Hope that helps

I ended up getting the front PTM bumper from ebay (ford dealer out of RI) and the bumper side caps from Tasca. I had the main bumper painted Rally Black and the caps oxford white (YZ code).

For those in the process of ordering a truck or still looking and are thinking of eventually swapping the chrome out, learn from me just get the sport package to begin with. Save your self the hassle. It was a PAIN!

But overall im really glad with the way it turned out, and now I know better so next time Im just going to get what I want from the get go.

Cheers!

Man that looks really great and the Anzo headlights really compliment the whole look. I'm looking to add just the bumper caps to my Lariat and keep the chrome grill and bumper center piece (would sort of have the Platinum look without the matte silver grille) Were the caps a pain to install? It seems like I'd have to disassemble the bumper to get them to fit.

Thanks! Unfortunatly the cap route requires an entirely different bumper. The underlying bumper has guide/mounting holes for the caps. If you do end up going with cap bumpers its a complete tear down of the parts and rebuild and slight modification to the top step trim. The following is a pic of the holes and tabs in the bumper

Hope that helps...

Cheers!

very interesting detail. The caps do provide a more accurate break line for the color change. Looks good!

Sorry for some reason I totally missed this. I know its off topic, but Thank You you are so right! there is definitely some "crazy **** ", as you put it, that you could do information on the internet.

What's really "crazy ****" is this thing called spoofing or "swating" where people on the internet who have nothing better to do decide it would be fun to mess with people. For those that dont what that is, the following is a example:

Bored Internet Bad Guy wants to do "Crazy ****" so he spoofs his phone number and calls 911 and the conversations goes something like this:

"Hello 911, I was just passing by Penn Lincoln Elementary on the corner of 5th and 12th st in ALTOONA and I saw this guy in a FORD F150 and I think he may have been trying to lure some kids, I overheard him say "hey I have some pet chickens and if they would like to come to his place near Arch Springs" I even overheard him give them his phone number if they changed their minds i think its was (814)9XX-8X76 it concerned me enough that I decided to follow him, he stopped at a house at 1XX3 GxxxsVxxx LN"

Dang think about what would have happened if he had his License Plate number it would have made for even more "Crazy ****"

Thank you again for the reminder!

Cheers!
