Default Check engine light randomness

So my CEL came on about 4 days ago but the truck was running fine. I checked all fluids and stuff and everything was good to go. No leaks anywhere underneath. Light has stayed on every time I started her up to drive her since. I was scheduled to take it to the dealership this morning but the funniest thing happened, the CEL went away literally on my way to the dealership. What the heck happened lol?

2015 with the 5.0 V8. 55K miles.

There's a zillion reasons for a CEL that wouldn't be obvious with a visual inspection, and some codes do clear themselves (or at least clear the CEL) after enough mileage/drive cycles. The code is likely still present if you read it with Forscan/IDS/etc.

The code will be stored....dealer should be able to scan it. Could be a million things...including a crappy tank of gas.

Could I just go to AutoZone and get them to pull up the code? I don't want to pay a $100 "diagnostic fee" just to have them plug in a reader.

Yep, their reader will give you some idea. Getting your own OBD dongle and a copy of Forscan would be even better.
