Default Check engine light going away question

Hey guys I was having trouble starting my truck after filling gas and a check engine light came up. Brought in my truck and they told me my purge valve was bad and got charged 190 canadian for diagnostics lol.. So I bought a replacement and now it starts no problem.
My question is does the CEL go away on its own or does ford have to scan it again?

The cell should be stored in the ECU

Some times they don't get stored in the ECU if it is not a huge problem

Just use the scan tool to clear it out if it is there

It will go away after a certain time.distance. It has to go through its checks and balances.

It will clear itself if the problem no longer exist but it will still be stored as a history code. You should use a scan tool to clear the code or disconnect the battery which will also wipe it from memory.

If you don't have a scan tool, just disconnect the batter negative cable for a while.
