Default check engine light

2019 f150 XLT 5.0 46k miles
check engine light came on. Fordpass app says "engine control system has reached its adaptive fuel control system limits for an overly rich condition"
truck drives fine. i have only ran regular gas 87 octane. any idea what this could be? And is there a way to clear the light off the dash with out taking it to the dealer?

thanks
MIke

You need an OBD II reader to find out what the actual code(s) is/are. You can clear the code with the reader but it will come back immediately if the fault condition is still active. You need to have the issue fixed because overly rich fueling can destroy a catalytic converter in short order. Then you are paying $$$ for replacement.

Go to autozone, go in and ask to borrow their obdii reader. Go out, plug in the port, turn on ignition, get error code #. Write it down. click delete code, and wait and see if it comes back. In the mean time, let us know what code it shows. You certainly don't need to go to a Dealer, but if it is under warranty, I would. If this is not your thing, simple aske autozone to read the code, they may or may not delete it.

Wouldn't that fall under warranty for emissions? If so stop by your dealer and see what they can do.

The report on your screen will be for codes 172 and or 174.
Clearing codes never fixes anything, it's a fault. The notice will return shortly because the fault is still there.
The long term fuel tables are shifted lean for a reason (due to an excess in fuel); that's the way the system reports the specific issue.
You got the notice in English that is the description of the fault and codes.
Good luck.

Update..... called the dealer nearest me. (i didnt not buy the truck there) and told them what was happening. Also found out that my truck was using/losing oil. it was barely on the stick.
They said to brinig it in and there was a recall to perform. i asked what this would cost me? The said they couldnt say until they got it in the shop.
So i took it in, 2.5 hours later the dealership called and they were done. Got up there and they said they did TSB which was why the light was on.
They charged me NOTHING. So far truck seems to be fine......
