Default Check engine ligh

I’m sitting on 32k trouble free miles.

last night, my check engine light came on with no other noticeable issues except my remote start doesn’t work either.

When I try to remote start it, it simply honks twice at me.

Is this indicative of anything specific?

I know it's not much to go on, but I thought that was curious

There are a myriad of reasons why remote start won't work... almost anything that sets a CEL/MIL will kill it. I'd suggest getting you a good OBD reader (OBDLink MX + Forscan being the most versatile) and reading the codes. Your local Autozone will likely read the code for you for free.

Your post is somewhat vague for anyone trying to assist you - like me. Can you please give me some specifics: year of vehicle, engine model and DTC. I will be glad to see if there are any SSMs or TSBs relating to your CEL.
