Charge cord relocation (write up + pics)
Shows how to relocate your charge cord.
I did this because I was tired of the cord always hanging down into the passenger footwell, and constantly being pinched from the front sliding door compartment when plugged in with the sliding door closed.
First you will need a drill with a metal or wood bit big enough to cut a hole just large enough for the small end of your cord. A pair of side cutters, or a dremel cutting tool (something to cut a plastic tab)
Second you will need 2 Rubber grommets, One big enough to fit around your cord, Inside diameter will be roughly 1/8". The second will have a larger inside diameter depending on your cord end. *Bring the cord with you when buying the grommets to insure sizing*. I believe I used a 3/8 inside diameter for the second (some may need a different size). This one will be placed in a tight oval shape to let the cord go in slightly but tight enough not to fall in.
Given that you have a drill and drillbit available, the supplies should put you back about 1.50$. So go check the couch for some loose pocket change.

Start by opening the center console lid, start prying on the trim piece that surrounds the cupholders & shifter from that point. Place the truck into the Neutral position. There are no screws to worry about breakage. Work your way by prying it up towards the stereo.

Once all the clips on top are unclipped and it only remains attached to the dash piece, you need to pull straight back. There are only 1 clip on either side (these I found were the most stubborn). Once unclipped, Pull the trim piece out and place the truck back into Park.

Now that the trim is removed you can start drilling the holes. Open your front console with the sliding door. Figure out where you want your hole to be, I made mine at a right angle from where the charger end is. Drill from the outside in, as theres no room inside for a drill. Be careful not to push to hard, as we don't want a "blowout" on the inside. Next drill a hole in the little wall to pass through as well as the one closer to the large center console.
4) Images 9-10
On to the trim piece. I wanted mine in the center right behind where I keep the phone. Use a pair of sidecutters, or dremel cutting tool to cut that center fin. I had to drill a hole on either side of where the fin was and elongate the holes to where they connect. **I recommend trying on another piece of plastic or cardboard first with your large grommet to find the proper size oval hole for your cord, this is the part you really don't want to eff up**..
**alternatively you can make the same size small hole as the one in the push compartment, but the cord will remain out and wont be able to stow away**
5)
Putting it all together. Start by placing your small grommet over the small end of the cord, and pushing it all the way to the usb side of it. Start running your cord through the holes you drilled. Place the trim piece close by and run the end of the cord through it. Place the trim on top of the console without clicking it back in, make sure all of the cord is tucked in where it wont get pinched. Theres a deep pocket directly under where your new outlet is, that will keep all the extra cord that you can pull out and push back in. Click it all back in place starting at the front and work your way back. Lastly place the bigger grommet over the small end of the cord and put in its oval opening.
At this point you should be done. Enjoy!

It was always pinching my cord, I had gone through 2 cords when I thought about a way to get around that problem. It was also rubbing in the corner and the cord was taking the finish off the top corner of the lid. OCD problems!

Do you not have a charger in the center console?
