Default Change compass to outside temperature?

On the Mach-e the compass can be changed to the outside temperature. I don’t care for that on the Mach e because you can see it all the time but in the 2018 F-150 it’s hidden when in CarPlay. Anyone tried this mod in the IPC?

I wonder if the IPC address change used in the mach e would work in the f-150...

I would never condemn what a guy wants to do their vehicle, but why would you guys want to do that?

Just to be able to see the outside temps without having to take the time to exit out of CarPlay to go to sync to see it.

Can you not display a weather widget in Car Play that has the local temperature on it? I haven't experimented with Car Play much but that seems like a possible solution.

Because the temp should be shown in the cluster like the compass. It disappears once you have started CarPlay and that was probably an oversight when designing this truck year.

On my 2018 xlt it shows on the center dash screen all the time for outside.
Agrees with the engine , trans, intake termps and CATS at cold starts.
PCM checks they are in agreement within 10% on cold starts.
Then each one goes separate indications as their systems heat up separately.
All checked with a Scanner looking at live data.
Good luck.
