Is it normal for a CEL to come on then go off? like within a short period of time. I havent pulled the codes yet, but twice in the last week mine came on for about 30 minutes then went off.

I thought once they were triggered it had to be cleared?

Not sure about a CEL but my Airbag light came on while driving, it was noted in my FordPass app and then it went away at the next start.

I think if it goes through it's 'check' procedure and whatever caused it passes the next few times, it turns off. I bet a code is stored deeper in the system, would take a better tool like Forscan to read it.

If you had a Scanner that has a trap feature, it would register the fault in the Scanner to be viewed.
Just one way to get it.
I have an older Scanner that has that feature and works pretty slick for the few times I've needed it.
Good luck.

If you check with Forscan any previously reported codes will still be shown.

So, grab an OBDLink Ex cable, and let us know what you find logged for codes.
