Default catch can

Will be getting a new F-150 FX4 with the 2.75 ecoboost next week. There are so many opinions on installing a catch can yet three dealers tell me it isn't necessary so what is the real truth?

Thank you,
Terry

Maybe a mod can move this to the correct 2015- section.

Read the forums and see

Your 2.7 liter does not need a catch can.

I have a catch can on my 2013 Shelby. I was told by the dealers and other folks it was not needed. I found one used at a good price and installed it just to see for myself. I have emptied the can twice since the last oil change. It captures a few ounces of oil a month depending on how I drive it. I know it is not a Twin Turbo engine and a super charger is different. But I am glad that the few once of oil are being captured and not going into my SC/TB. I say it can not hurt. Ford engineers say it is not needed because if it was they would have installed one from the factory.
