Default Catalytic protector

I posted this on the "Aftermarket Products, Reviews & Installation" sub forum , but seems that nobody goes there.

Has anybody installed one of these on a 13th gen F-150?

Not sure about the one from Amazon but I purchased and installed the one from Talons Garage. Quality product with no drilling.

I assume it works, no crackheads have removed my cats yet.

That one looks similar to the one from Amazon. My question is: do you have to remove it for an oil change? It has a square hole but it looks too small for changing oil.

No sir , I did not drop the plate for oil change and the pass through is big enough. I just had my oil changed this past Friday at the Ford dealership. It was the first time since installing the plate. I removed the door before I went in. I also explained to the service dept what was installed and if they took their time by slowly opening the plug the oil would not shoot out. Really not sure if they followed that suggestion but they did clean it up pretty good.

what I should have done is purchased the UPR plug before that oil change and had them install at time, but I didn’t . I will have it in hand next time. Which will make the oil change much easier on the cleanup aspect .

At the end of the day, my thought is anything you can install to hopefully deter the crackheads will be a win, regardless the manufacture of the device/plate. If they really want them , they will get them but make the crackheads work for them.

Im not really worried about the cat theft.... they are mounted high up and already difficult to cut with a sawzall from the topside.

thieves steal the resonator cause they are just plain dumb.

I installed a
Fumoto F107SX M12-1.75 Fumoto F107SX M12-1.75
drain valve, the oil pours straight down.

In this neck of the woods it seems those guys can use a Sawzall pretty good on an F150.

The F150 is #1 for cat thefts nation wide and when I have to travel to Houston (which is a hot spot currently) it’s just a little extra security having the plate, I hope.

This is the first time I've seen this update to the front of Talon's pan, I like how he cut the panel to sit in the bolt valley of the engine pan.

I designed mine to sit under the engine pan, I'm going to cut off the part that the plastic transmission panel bolted to. Also going to replace those hex bolts with cap heads, those still hang up on stuff even with the protective humps in the pan.

I've also got the front of the transmission pan bolted to a bracket that is held by the cross-member bolts. Can't ever have too few bolts at the front end of a pan.
