my boss wants me to pick up 12 bundles of shingles and a 2 rolls of felt in my 2003 ford xlt supercab ..travel for 60 miles...will this hurt my truck ?

 

That will probably be about 1000lbs +/- a few lbs depending on what type. Architectural style shingles generally weigh 65 to 80 lbs. per bundle Heavy duty felt is about 30 lbs a roll. My little 2.7 baby boost xlt didn't even notice the 1200lbs of bagged sand I hauled.

By the way. Why post this in the 2015 to present thread if you have a 2003?

Id tell your boss to supply a company vehicle

 

I used to carry stuff for an old employer until he asked me to tie a large roll of carpet on the topper and roof of my truck. I told him to have a check ready for a new high quality paint job and rental car and I will consider it. He had the carpet delivered.
