Default Carplay Issues

Saw that I can update Sync on my 2020 Platinum. Will this solve the connection problems they are having? Will it make it worse? The file name is 5U5T-14G381-EK if that makes any difference? Thanks...

Hey DJ. What problems are you having with CarPlay?

We have the same truck, so I’m interested in learning.

Carplay not connecting every time. It works less than half the time. I have to reset the head unit sometimes 3 or 4 times before it will connect.

Wondering if your phone is fairly new and kept updated? You might unpair your truck and phone, completely, do an off/on and see if that works hiccups out? My works flawless most of the time in my Lariat.

Look online as there's lots of info on this problem. I have it as well but I've started to be able to manipulate it. I think it's mostly when the bluetooth connection overrides the USB. It's annoying as hell. Turn off your bluetooth before you get in your truck. Also, does this happen in a common location?

Definitely a know issue. I can go for a few weeks and forget about it then all of the sudden it's back. My truck and IPhone are updated to latest versions and I still get occasional carplay connection issues.

My 2018 I have the same issues. I have to unplug the phone a few times to get it to work. I have replaced the cord a few times now and seems too help for a few months. Then it starts all over again. It seems too work better, with an IPhone cable.

I guess I'll try the sync update. Just wanted to make sure it doesn't make things worse before I updated..
