Default Car wash with brushes and the antenna

I still have the stock antenna on my truck. Does anyone take their antenna off when going through a car wash with brushes?

I don't but I've thought about it. Sure looks like its going to get ripped off. I never use the radio anyway so thought about replacing it with a cap or short antenna.

Even worse I feel like if it does get ripped off its going to stay in the brush and beat the entire side of the truck!

I always took it off. I stopped using car washes though.

I would try to avoid those brush car washes all together. I know they typically give the best clean but who knows whats in those brushes.

I am going to try out the 6 3/4" option from The Antenna Source. They offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the reception...

I replaced mine with an 18", just to keep it from hitting the parking garage where I work. No difference in the sound. Like some others I would never use a car wash, either my driveway or the self serve coin-op.
