Car wash with brushes and the antenna

Have a short antenna on at the present time. Take it off if you go this route and go thru a brush car wash, tried going thru with short 9" rubber antenna and it is bent. Brushes on area brush car washes stop in the general area of the antenna and it turns into a wrestling match which one is going to win. Saw the issue back in 17.

Even in my non aluminum truck, I take the antenna off when going through car washed. I fold the mirrors in to. I have seen people post on Facebook about mirrors being ripped off by the brushes.

The most convenient car wash on my route is a soft touch. I bought a stubby antenna. I listen to Sirius and pod casts primarily. I do notice that my signal strength is def reduced if Im on FM.

I assume you don't live somewhere it gets cold in the winter. Not practical to hand wash in the winter and touchless do a **** job when you car is covered in salt.

I have a short/ stubby antenna. Yes I take mine off every time I go through car wash. Even though I don't "Have too", for my own piece of mind I do it any way.. If I had original antenna there is no doubt i would remove it every time.. I also pull my mirrors in.

I put a stubby on mine from Antenna Source but I go to a touchless One all the time in the winter
