Default Cannot project iphone maps to F150 screen?

Folks this is on a 2020 F150 XL 3.3L V6 with equipment group 101A Mid that includes Bluetooth, backup camera, etc.. It has a non-touch screen (buttons) I am able to my iPhone to Bluetooth to use phone and such. I can connect phone to truck with USB cord and it will connect to iPhone maps or Google maps and will play the audio directions through speakers. HOWEVER it will not project maps to the truck screen? It is running sync 3 on truck and "assume" the carplay on phone is working properly? what am I doing wrong/how to fix?

Many times it's your charger cord. I tried two knockoff cords and had the same problem but then grabbed my shorter Apple cord and it works perfect everytime.

Non-touch screen? Like is it the small 4” screen?

If it’s like this one, then it’s only going to give you the audio and not project the phone maps to the screen.

Yeah, you need to have the Apple Carplay or Android auto capability to be able to display the phone's map. When I had my 2017, I replaced that radio with an aftermarket that had carplay.
