Cannot believe that a $50,000 vehicle with GPS cannot set the clock correctly
I cannot believe in this day and age that my $50,000 truck with built-in GPS/Nav is thrown for a loop with Daylight Savings. Why is there no setting for DST?
I understand that Ford removed it and replaced it with the Auto Time-Zone but it does not work in the Boise area, of course we are about 40 miles from the Pacific Time Zone, so maybe it cannot tell what timezone we are in. My $100 GPS sure can.
Of course I am still having problems with the time being off anywhere from 5 - 90 minutes on a very random basis.
Very annoying.
Anyone else have these issues?

I too was bewildered that DST had to be manually accounted for. Not that it's a huge inconvenience to change the clock but I cant imagine it would have been a huge inconvenience to make it automatic. Could have made it a $300 option.
As far as I have noticed the time has been accurate other than that.

What if you're in an area that doesn't acknowledge daylight savings time?

Sorry. I meant the auto function. The auto time zone makes sense because time zones are standardized around the globe. Daylight Savings is not so an automatic correction would suit a smaller amount of people globally. Does seam kind of silly that you can't tell it your in a DST area and let it auto correct from there.

My $600 phone knows what time it is where ever it is at. My $60,000 truck does not. Still not a big deal but something was said somewhere about devils and details.

I am surprised that the clock doesn't sync up with your phone when it's connected through blue tooth.
But then again, it takes about 5 seconds to add or subtract an hour to the clock twice a year.

Unless you have actually driven in that splash of Idaho time zone that is in Oregon, or even worse, read the PS under the map, you don't really know what your phone will do.
Check out Indiana and Kentucky and Tennessee.

Maybe. Look at this map and see the problem.

I live within 2 hours of the time zone in tn and my phones and even one of my cars times change within a minute of passing the sign on the interstate. I worked on one side of tn and lived on the other so i crossed it 2-3 times per month for over a year
