Default Camera control module replacement

My 85 year-old dad has a 2015 F150 Platinum V8 AWD. His 360 camera stopped working. The dealer says the control unit needs to be replaced, and wants $1,500 to do the repair.

The control unit is an expensive part, but I wondering if this is something I can do for him and save $800 or so. So, I have two questions that I'm hoping y'all can help me with:

1. Where is the control unit located? I've seen some videos that show these things behind the radio, and others that show it beneath the glove box.
2. When a new control unit is installed, is there any programming or calibration required...or is it plug and play?

Ah, ok. I figured they were talking about GL3Z-19H405-E...but maybe not? The backup camera still works...just not the other cameras. The screen still works, and the outline of the truck is visible...just nothing around it.

If there's calibration that must happen, then it's probably not something I want to mess with. Thanks for the reply!
