Default Call to & from Ford customer service

I've had some issues with Sync 3 v2.2, I had read about it here, and spoke to my local dealer about v3.2. Couldn't find a link, so I called the dealer. The dealer said they have it, but it's not covered by Ford, so if I want it I have to pay 1 hour labor ($140.00)....!!!!!! WTF, my truck is under warranty, and am having stability and missing components issues... Dealer wouldn't budge.

I called Ford customer service and sync customer service, each of them said to speak to the other to resolve my issue. I asked for a manager, and apparently they are all "busy". Next day a person calls identifying themselves as a "supervisor". This person had no empathy, couldn't care a less about my issues. Gave me the same BS response, probably read it out of a manual, basically saying pay or wait for the update.

Love my truck, but hate their so called customer service!!! Now here is another place to drain the swamp. Not a Trump follower or lover, but that slogan can and should be used in many cases, including Ford service.

I had the same experience with my 2016 Ford Edge and got the run around. Ford Customer Service said call Sync Customer Service. Sync said call Ford. I was trying to determine why version 2.2 has not been released for my Edge. I am still running 2.0. Version 2.2 was released back in the spring for my truck.

I believe the Sync software, much like Sirius, is treated the same way Microsoft or Android defer responsible. Oh... your system is not working. It is because you installed a third party software. Both companies point fingers at the other guy and refuse to accept any responsibility.

Oh yes, when you call Ford corporate the customer service is just great. My 2016 Platinum with factory navigation is supposed to have 5 years of free Sirius travel Link and Traffic (states so in the 2016 Ford sales brochure).

Called Sirius, they ran my ESN and VIN and told me there is no 5 year free subscription and to call Ford.

Called Ford (number off the owner website) and was told to call Sirius. When I asked about the fact that it states so in the brochure he got ignorant with me.

Called Sirius again and this time was told that the dealer who sold it new needs to call Sirius and they gave me 2 month free so I have time to resolve the issue. I haven't been to that dealer yet because it is 80 miles away.

It is just great when you get the run around while you drive a truck that costs as much as some houses.

I was also told at the dealer when I bought my truck that it would have the 5 years sirius. 1 year later, it all went away. I never used it though, as sirius sounds TERRIBLE in my truck. So I didn't bother fighting the issue.

Where are you all getting 5 year Sirius deals from? Ford only offers 6 months.

Sounds like maybe the dealer is supposed to foot the bill for the first 4 1/2 years of subscription service since they are the ones offering it?

They can't read. It's 5 years of Sirius travelLink, or whatever the traffic service is called on the nav system.

^^ What GMC to Ford said above ^^

You get 6 months of sirrius radio, and if you have nav then 5 years of traffic & travel link & weather

Funny thing... I let mine expire after six months; was not interested in renewing. About a month later was somewhat missing it & with the offers they were sending, I called to renew. After repeated attempts to send that activation signal, it never worked. Sirius advised to take it to the dealer but I'm not bothering with it. The traffic, weather & travel link continue to work.
