Oh thanks for that. How do they fill then without the system running?

Exactly. The pressure from the refrigerant supply container is sufficient to trigger the pressure sensor once everything is correctly connected, assuming everything else is operating correctly.

Same for the older pressure switches. Jumping that switch speeds things up, though.

So I originally brought the truck to the dealer Thursday after finding a tranny leak after they repaired it a few months ago while it was under warranty and told them about the refrigerant leak. Friday is when they told me it needed a new compressor because it wasn’t kicking on. I’m not sure how they came to this conclusion. The feeling I get from them and reading this is that they probably didn’t even test it. I gave them the okay that afternoon figuring a new compressor at 71k with a warranty couldn’t hurt. Of course Tuesday when I call to check up “the guy working on your truck quit out of the blue Friday” and they haven’t even ordered the part. In addition to this, I asked them to use their computer to activate the Ford/Kicker subwoofer and they had no idea what I was talking about and doubted they could do it. Really getting tired of “Ford service”.
