I believe the compressors for the 2017+ models are variable displacement, they don't cycle and the clutch always spins. You never hear the clicking sound a fixed displacement compressor makes. My ex had a Hyundai Sonata with a similar system and after it was parked awhile in the sun on hot days it wouldn't blow cold idling. You could let it run for an hour and would get nothing, even the cooling fan wouldn't turn on like it wasn't even engaging. But when you start driving it or rev the engine, the cooling fan kicks on and it would eventually ramp up to 100% output. Did that since day one and other than that the A/C would blow ice cubes.

Hey guys I’m still having issues with my A/C. Most of the time it doesn’t work after the initial start, but if I restart the truck it will start blowing cold. Today I was driving it it wouldn’t blow cold, so when I got home, I turn the truck off and restarted it. After restart I could hear the fans on turbo but still no cold air... restarted it again and popped the hood and noticed the two fans were not spinning and the truck was blowing warm air, restarted again it, then started blowing cold air and both fans were spinning. Could this be related to a sensor of something not triggering the fans?

I've had the dealer look at it, but they were never able to get it to act up. I took it there so many times that they finally replaced the evap sensor and recharged they system, which was working for a few weeks until today. For the first 15 min of my drive I had no A/C, then it magically turns on, which is the case whenever I have this issue. The A/C will eventually turn on at some point, sometimes it takes 15 or 30 minutes, then it will work completely fine.

Do y'all have any thoughts on what the issue could be?
when you said really humid I first thought that it is too cold. put a thermometer in the dash vent and check. should be about 40o. the evaporator valve that controls this may be bad. your evaporator may be freezing solid.

Do yall think with the symptoms I described that this could be related to the expansion valve?

Yes that's what usually causes the temp to be too low.
