C&D F150 5.0 vs EB

Why all the animosity between engine choice anyways. I bought a 5.0 for my own personal reasons. Are they right or wrong? Neither because they are mine. No one will convince me that any engine choice is better for me... or better in general. In specific ways each engine has advantages and all owners weigh those when they choose. If I did high milage or towed in high altitude maybe my choice would change. Ive said this before.. i would be tickled pink if any of you tossed me keys to your rides and let me go for a rip. Not because I think they are better, or to prove something to myself about my truck, but because I love trucks.. Ford makes great engines and great trucks. A personal fave of mine was a '88 superduty with the 460 and a punched out cat. That thing roared like a lion who's ***** you just stepped on. And yes I know your 2.7 would beat it between lights.

Wow another beat to death VS thread, and a resurrected one at that. If you like loud, get the 5.0, and if you tow, get the 3.5, they are both the best on the market.

This^^
People keep thinking EB is anti-V8 (it's not).
It's just easy for one to think so.Its simply just a way to get bigger power out of a smaller engine,no different then having a EB V8 (smaller V8 efficiency, bigger V8 power) just like the current V6 EB marketing (V6 efficiency,V8 power).
Some will say,Ford will just up the power of the V6 EB like the Ford GT.No,a engine like the Ford GT will never find its way into a mass production truck, for cost and reliability reasons.
And ofcourse some will say "Ford will never have a EB V8 for CAFE" blah blah blah, well there's been a few articles that reference Ford having a EB V8 program off/on for the last few years, also the next GT500 is said to be a EB 5.0 V8.EB V8 will complete the EB line.Oh,and Ford is working on a 7.0 V8 as we speak, yes,a 7.0 V8.
CAFE what?

I think it's kinda funny that if someone says the 3.5 N/A was slow and can't tow much, everyone agrees, including 3.5NA owners. Say the 2.7 EB Can't tow 11,000 lbs, yep you're right, everyone agrees. Call the 5.0 slower than an EB and all the 5.bros throw a fit.

I haven't heard anything about the 7.0 V8 going into any Mustang,I heard it will be truck duty (maybe the 6.8 V10/6.2 V8 replacements). Also,I'm willing to bet the 7.0 V8 will not fit in the Mustang (one of the reasons Ford decided not to use the previous 5.8 V8 supercharged GT500 engine in the new GT500 is because it wouldn't fit, said by an SVT engineer themself).

And yes, the 6.8 will be replaced by the 7.0. So it won't be in a half-ton.
Yes each engine is good. If you drew a Venn diagram, each truck would have its place somewhere on there. The 5.0 just happens to be around the middle and fits as an all-around jack of all trades engines. Not the best mileage or power or acceleration, but just enough of all of them to round it out. The others fit further in the corners towards mileage, power, etc, but that takes them further away from the other points.

I won't hold my breath on the 7.0 V8 going into a Mustang (tho that would be awesome). Its still early but who knows. Most reports have claimed a 5.0 V8 EB/5.2 V8 EB going into the new GT500.
As for the 7.0 V8 in truck form (more than likely only be Super Duty),who knows, but more so moral of what I was saying was,a 7.0 V8 in general happening, just voices Ford is not done with V8s,along side of other reasons, despite all the foolish claims from some with their heads in the clouds.Ford knows there is still a large V8 only customer base, and Ford trucks are their bread and butter, their favorite child, their cash cow.
5.0 V8 "only" accounts for 30% of F150 sales vs 70% sales from "THREE" V6 engines.
If Ford killed the V8,they would also lose that 30% of V8 buyers to GM/FCA.
There are people at Ford that get paid alot of money to figure out these things.
