Default Buying an F150 with multiple error codes

Hi everyone,

I’m new to the forum and currently in the process of purchasing a 2016 Ford F‑150 Lariat, but I’ve run into a number of electrical and driver‑assist warnings that have me a bit concerned. Before I move forward with the purchase, I wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone has experienced something similar or can offer some guidance.

My initial suspicion is a possible BLIS module issue in the taillights, but I’m not sure if a single fault like that could realistically trigger all of these warnings at once.

Issues / Warnings Displayed

The truck is showing multiple messages on the dash, including:
  • Check Locking Differential
  • Service AdvanceTrac
  • Check Brake System
  • Tire Pressure Monitor Fault
  • Lane Keeping System Malfunction – Service Required

Warning Lights Currently On

In addition to the messages above, the following warning lights are illuminated:
  • Check Engine Light
  • Traction Control Light
  • ABS Light
  • TPMS Light

Additional Notes

  • The truck does start, runs, and drives, but the sheer number of system alerts makes me think there may be a single underlying issue rather than multiple unrelated failures.
  • I’m wondering if this could be related to something commonly seen on these trucks, such as:
    • A failing ABS module or wheel speed sensor
    • Low battery voltage, weak battery, or alternator issues
    • Grounding or wiring faults
    • Possible previous accident repair or water intrusion
    • Module communication (CAN bus) issues
Given how interconnected these systems are, I’m trying to determine whether this is something relatively minor and fixable, or a larger electrical problem that could turn into an expensive headache after purchase.

Never mind. I just searched the VIN and the truck was totaled before.

I couldn't do it either. That said, many of those faults do occur often with an undercharged battery or one that needs replaced.
