Default Buyback Question

I have a 2018 F-150 5.0 that i bought used in July 2022 with 58,000 miles. In March 2023, with approximately 67,000 miles, the engine started misfiring and it was found that Cylinder 3 was losing 29% compression. I had an extended warranty, and they paid for a new long block minus about $1,500 in miscellaneous fees that they refused to cover. The truck sat at the dealership for 7 months waiting for that long block, all the while I was making a payment on it and not able to use it. The truck drove great after the long block was replaced and i got the oil changed at the 3,000 mile interval. However, yesterday I started it before driving back home after a weekend out of town, and the Check Engine Light started flashing and it was idling horribly. I had it towed to an independent garage as they were open and could look at it. They found that yet again, the engine needs replaced, this time due to the tensioner breaking and the chain breaking afterwards. The engine ate the parts, as they could not find any remnants of the parts broken parts in the engine. Ford is honoring the warranty on the motor, but i am number 887 on the waitlist for a new 5.0, and i have no hope of getting the vehicle back before the end of this year since i started at 150 last time and it took 6 months to arrive at the dealership.

I am wondering if anyone has anyone successfully negotiated a buyback on a used vehicle with Ford? I wouldn't even be asking the question, but at this point, by the time i will have owned the truck for three years, it is likely that it will have been in the shop for at least half that time. I am tired of the truck and just want to get rid of it and forget i ever made such a terrible purchase.

Welcome. Never heard of a used car buy back. I would talk to the dealer about trading it in.
