I think the going rate is far less than 2k installed... I paid $1350 installed and it's easily as good or possibly better than the factory stuff.

OP... I should probably add to my above post... this is my first XLT (302a) in nearly 20 years. I've had a lot of vehicles over the last 20+ years and rarely considered anything without leather (therefore I've pretty much just bought Lariat/similar packages in the majority of vehicles we've owned). I bought this 302a, added Katskin and haven't regretted not buying a Lariat one time. My wife has touch button start and it's great... I've had it and while it's nice, I don't miss having it on my vehicle. These trucks are all pretty nice at this point. There's not a ton of difference IMO between a Lariat 501 and an XLT 302a... the jump is if you get into a 502 and for me, there wasn't enough "extras" for the amount of money. But of course do your homework and look at the list of goodies to be sure you get what you want/need... it'll cost you a whole lot more trading in 6 months if it's not what you wanted. Best wishes!

To me a vehicle with out touch start and smart entry is not a vehicle I prefer to own . I much prefer a loaded used car over a new one with less options

I bought a 2016 Lariat scab brand new 4 months ago. Sort of an impulse buy but had been looking for a good used. Sometimes, for what I spent, I think I coulda shoulda shopped around, even priced the competition, lol, but I been driving f150s since 93! Bought this same as cash, they gave me $9300 trade for my old 06, etc. At first I thought it had waaay too much junk I don't need, but ive came to love all of it. Got it cuz only black v8 with floor shift on the lot. Didn't even know till ni got home sittinjg inj the driveway, looking over the inside close, THAT IT EVEN HAD A POWER MOONROOF! LMAO. Buy what you like the best. Good luck!

So I just went through this for the past year or so, but ultimately I never found a Lariat at the mileage and price I wanted that would sway me into a used one. The f150s hold too much value to buy a lightly used one IMO, I was seeing kind basically the following:

new XLT 302a = 36-38k
new lariat 500a = 41-42k
new lariat 501a = 43-45k
used 16 Lariats = 38-48k (some 502a trucks in here)

The lariats toward the 38k price were 30-50k mile trucks, which I didnt want. Ultimately to me, the price on the new XLT just made the most sense. The rebates were hard to beat on the XLT, but I would have been inclined to buy a new Lariat 501a if the rebates were a little better. They are changing today or tomorrow as someone said, I'd keep an eye on them. We are entering the best time to buy a 17, the rebates will get larger toward the end of the year but selection will go down dramatically.
