Default Bumper Steps anyone?

What is everyones thoughts on bumper steps? Looks like the can serve 2 purposes, first it will give your better access to your bed and second they will protect your rear bumper. I kinda like the bully bumper. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I kind of doubt that there's enough meat there to give the bumper much, if any, added protection. And I'm not sure I see the advantage of using that step instead of the built-in step pad. But if you're changing bumpers to a different style that doesn't have the built-in step pad, then maybe...

Tailgate step is the way to go. Rear bumper is high enough that a car's bumper shouldn't hit.
Get a trailer hitch, it looks better. Bumper steps belong on SUV's.

No. Don't like anything that encourages lazy azzes to drag their feet across my paint jumping over the tailgate. Drop the tailgate!!! Even this olde azz can get in the box like that. Like those ones that go on the front/side of the box, no there too. I had to corral a kid that thought it was fine to step on the top of my tire and swing his leg over the side of my truck. His reply? "It's only a truck, man". GTFO of here.

Pick the one that has the design you'd best like scarred into your shins. I have a nice set of matching weight hitch dents on mine!

https://www.weathertech.com/bumpstep-original/ I have this one, about the only thing I don't like with it is the mount is not tight in the trailer hitch, so you have to watch how you step on it, so you need to be centered on the step. I don't think it makes a difference on who makes it for that issue, trailer hitch shanks aren't tight either. Its some kind of plastic material, so will never rust.
Its already went through the plastic grill on an idiot that didn't keep there foot on the brake pedal while stopped in traffic.
