Default Bumped at Stoplight - Muscle Flexed

I was minding my own business this morning stopped at a light and suddenly felt a jolt from the rear. I looked in my rear and saw the roof of a black Camry. SONOFA!!! I got out to find a totally distraught young blonde girl shaking from the trauma...her foot slipped off the brake at the light.

I have 34" tires, otherwise stock rear height. She ran squarely into my hitch. There was a clearly defined square indent in her bumper cover, but not even a mark on my truck, even the paint on the hitch was untouched.

She didn't hit very hard, no airbags went off in her car, nor was it enough to move me forward at all. Still, I expected something to be out of place, especially considering I just spent like 2 hours adjusting my new dual exhaust tips last night (that's another story). All good, though. I asked the girl to pop her hood so I could make sure she didn't have any hidden damage. She didn't know how so I had to do it for her...

Anyway, whew! Thank goodness for a solid vehicle and tall ride height.

shaking from the trauma? lmao. The things people do/how they react to things, and especially now how things are over-dramatized is comical.

Just check underneath to make sure nothing's tweaked, but i'm sure the truck is OK.

Yeah, that's the only thing I haven't done since it was rainy this morning and I was going to work. I would be very surprised if anything was out of place. I am thinking that certain trailer loads would put more stress on the hitch than a bump from a 3000 lb Toyota (obviously it depends how fast it was going).

Also remember the camry is going to absorb some of the impact too

Yes, that is the most important part, actually! Most of that energy went into putting that hitch tattoo in the Camry's bumper cover.

Lol.. My hitch folded a Chevy cavalier hood like an accordian when I got rear ended. Car had to be towed because she couldn't see.

I laughed it off with no damage on my 07 F150.

Have to look it up but I'm pretty sure the standard is 2.5 mph bumper damage that won't result in any internal damage to the structural integrity of the vehicle or safety system.

Thats what bumpers are for
