It still has the protective film on it(but is covered in scratches that are through the film and into the plastic)
I used some masking tape to hold it on for the pictures, otherwise it Would fit correctly.
It stands out, as it's the only dull black color, where as the rest of the truck is gloss black.
Strange as it sounds, I think the bug deflectors look better on trucks with lifts, and/or oversize tires.
I think the bug deflectors draw attention to the hood, and give the illusion that the hood is bigger. And the bigger tires put things back into proportion, but that's just me.
For function, I'de rather have the series 2 that MotorsportsOne posted above, as it'll actually protect the windshield too, not just the hood, and I may buy one yet.

Has anyone either considered or purchased/installed a front end bra or hood cover?

Just curious as I don't care for the dark colored bug defectors but would like to have a front end cover I can put on and take off for the road trips.

I had a feeling you might have an AeroSkin I, and those were notorious for coming unglued and damaging the paint as it flew off the hood at highway speeds (according to the Amazon reviews).

I had the AVS bugflector II on both my Explorer and on Mrs. Aqualung's truck:

However, they seem to have gotten flimsy over the years.

Since I was going with camo highlights on the "Jagdwagon", I got the Stampede and am impressed in the heavy gauge sturdiness.

I've added the matching window vents as well since this photo.

With the bug guard, I was really disappointed with the mounting hardware they provide. The clips on the ends are good (but scratch paint, even with the vinyl tape), but the screw/anchors they provided are the sh*tty, plastic screws into thin, plastic anchors that stripped and popped in seconds. I ended up going to the hardware store and getting the plastic drywall anchors and metal screws, which did the trick.

Sorry, I know they don't help much since it's not really on there.

I have avs aeroskin II as well and it seems to work great but I did notice an increase in air turbulence around the wipers from before it was installed. Makes them flutter a bit more when down at highway speeds but they still operate just fine so its not functionally a big deal at all just might be slightly annoying to some.
I have the matte finish one installed on magnetic gray truck. Looks great

I went with the colorr coded AEROSKIN, very happy with it. Matches perfectly

I had the AVS Aeroskin II on my 2016. I really liked it and it seemed to keep a lot of bugs off the windshield.
