Default Broken Front Door Release Cable

Can anyone tell me how the hell you get the other end of the interior door release cable out to replace it? I accidentally broke mine the other day messing with the speaker in the door and it was super cold and the plastic broke right off. Now I have to open the driver door from the outside with the window down to get out. I ordered the part and pulled the door panel off to replace it and cannot figure out how to get the end inside the door out to replace it. Dealership wants to charge me for 1.5 hours ($140) to replace it. Picture 1 is the plastic piece that broke and picture 2 is the end I cannot figure out how to get off the truck (it is attached to the window track inside the door)

Did the same thing and paid the dealer to replace it. Watched them do the replacement in the bay and it looked like a pain in the butt. Had to disassemble the latch mechanism inside the door to get to the other end. Worth the coin in you have the means.

Someone in the Ford Enthusiasts forum gave me the Service manual procedure. I tackled it last night and yes, it was a PITA. You basically have to tear apart everything in the inner door including removing the window glass out of the door. The swap is complete and saved $ by doing it myself but man what a pain.

I know this thread is old but I now have this problem. Anyone that can help please chime in. Question? Why would you have remove the window to take out the door actuator? This looks like it is where the other end connects.
Anyone? when I went to buy the part dealership stated it is 2 cables a upper and lower for 2018. however I was told it was one cable on a 2017. Can someone confirm please? dealership wants to charge 283.00 part cost 10.00, I plan to do this myself.
