Default Broken Diaper Replacement

Hi All,

Just found out a few days ago that's what that carbon fiber worthless piece is called that covers the transmission area.......a Diaper! LOL. Mine started falling off around 2 years ago. Absolutely terrible design by Ford...have seen so many F150s with them hanging down. Had it zip tied pretty well, but I just lost it on a trip to Florida from Michigan! Hopefully didn't hit any drivers behind me! Doesn't take a rocket scientists to figure out that added weight from water/snow will rip those things to shreds..........but hey, reduce costs by whatever means!!

Looking at this RCI Product....a bit confused....do I need to buy a new oil pan plug (like this Fumoto design or Ronin that I've researched) if I'm going to continue to get oil changes at lube shops after this skid plate is installed? Or will I have to remove it on my own before I take it in? I doubt the lube shop is going to want to mess with that, but I could be wrong. I have the 2.7 so I'm not sure where the drain area would match up on this skid plate. I also Ford makes a metal one that is less expensive as well..........but again, don't know if the drain hole would match up.

Appears I'd have to drain the oil again before I installed a new plug.............and I just got my oil changed so I won't be doing that anytime soon.

I riveted aluminum corners on mine as reinforcement for the screws. Been hanging on now for 88k miles.
