Default Brake light doesn't work drivers side

2015 XLT 5.0L: When the DRL are on all lights work properly until I push the brake pedal, then the brake light on my driver's side shuts off completely. Passenger side works like it should (the LED brightens when brakes are applied). Third brake light works normally as well as the license plate lamps and turn signals. All of these lights are leds and resistors are in place for the brake lights. I swapped drivers side bulb for passenger side bulb and got the same issue.

This feels like an easy fix but i searched for a similar problem on the forum and cannot find a solution. Ground has been unbolted completely, cleaned and secured. Codes were scanned and a few came back that seem unrelated. The previous owner installed Morimoto headlights that work as they should. Any advise or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
