So...setting up my landscaping trailer to haul my Harley FX Softail and the Mrs' FL Road King,each around 750 lbs. Thinking of maybe using the Boxlink cleats and welding the mounting brackets to the sides of the trailer. Chocks I have for the front ends. Question is,will these plastic/resin/whatever cleats be safe for these bikes or should I just weld on tie down rings?
Why not use E track in the trailer? You can get a variety of tie down rings and cleats for E track.....E track accessories will fit in Boxlink brackets. However, it is loose from side to side. I don't know that I would trust using it for my motorcycle.
I've thought of those but the trailer is used for hauling dirt and stone,landscaping stuff most of the time so the tracks would get full of crap. For the rare times the bikes might be towed,the clean out isn't worth it.

So I haul only motorcycles….either to the track in my trailer, or down to TN in either the trailer or my bed. E track is the way to go, as far as tie down adjustability. The other thing to look at is pit bull’s Trailer Restraint System. That said, I’d doubt they have anything for those big bikes. All of mine are sport bikes, and the FTR. It’s an expensive system, but well worth the cost. On to your box link question specifically….in September I hauled my 929 and the FTR down to TN in the bed. Only tie down spots I used was the box link with e track rings. The only issue I had was the poor tie down locations Ford uses. I’d recommend using Baxley chocks though….I do all the time, and well worth their cost as well. Roll the bikes into the chock, and tie them down. For peace of mind, maybe use three box link mounts per side..?? Spread out the load a bit. I’d have no hesitation using the box link as the only tie down points. Just use good chocks that will help hold the bikes vertical, and then strap the bikes down. The weight of bike should keep the chock pretty steady, although you can strap the chock in as well, as I had done when going to TN.
Are the front tie down loops near the front bed corners inaccessible? I would think those would be the best low tie down point for a bike. I hauled a V-star 1100 in my old F250 years ago (not quite as heavy at around 600 lbs), I had put D ring tiedowns at my front bed corners and those worked great with straps on the handlebars.

I haul two bikes in the back all the time. Hayabusa and my sons 600 Ninja. Get a front tire chock it will hold the bike up well. Then use the bottom cleats to cinch it down and the boxlink just to keep it steady side to side.

You will not have any issue.
How bad was crossing your straps? I ask as that was my problem with the 929 and FTR…..no room to run them across without creating more issues…..that’s also why I want to install front bed rail tie down points.
