Default Boxlink

Ok... don’t laugh at me. I just traded a 2011 for a 2018. It has some hooks keyed to the bed of the truck that I think are called boxlink. I have searched the forum and about all I can find is that people lose the keys to them.

my question is. Why? What makes them any better than the bed hooks in my 2011 that were not keyed?

read they were to secure cargo from theft... how do they do that?

sorry if this sounds like a dumb post. I must be missing something.

oh... merry Christmas.

Greg

You can use them for tie downs or remove them and put other accessories in their place. I think e-track accessories fit. You can mount the Ford Ramps there, bed divider, etc. For most guys, it is just 4 extra tie downs.

The key is to prevent someone from stealing the Boxlinks, not the cargo. There are many threads here that show how you can add accessories to the boxlinks to make them more useful.

thank you. I don’t get the point of the keyed boxlinks either. The hooks themselves are ok, but I like the Built Right bedside panels that I installed over them much better.

I also don't get the point, and mine didn't fit from the factory, I broke a couple things including breaking a key off in the lock, because crap didn't fit
