Default Box Side Steps

I am planning on installing the OEM Box Side Steps. Could someone that has the OEM Box Side Steps, preferably with a 5.5" bed, please measure the distance (gap) between the top of the step tread and the bottom of the bed. My vehicle has Bushwacker pocket style fender flares which protrude below the bottom of the bed. I need to make sure the box side steps have enough clearance and won't contact the fender flares.

I have the 5.5 bed. It's dark out so I don't know if these will help or not. Hard to get a good measurement since the bottom of the truck is rounded. Best I can do right now.

I think I'm just going to let the dealership install mine. The price per unit and the price per unit installed was like a 15 dollar difference or something. I'll gladly pay 15 bucks to not have to deal with it *and* have the install and parts covered by Ford warranty.

robbieg thank you for the pictures & approx. measurement. I know measuring the gap accurately and taking pictures takes 3 hands especially in the dark.

My Bushwacker fender flares extend 9/16" below the bottom rail of the bed (not the OEM fender flare). Based on your picture I believe the bed side steps "should" fit. Guess I will take a gamble and proceed, then we'll all know.

PS: nice color !!

Just wanted to provide the answer to the question I raised at the beginning of this thread...

Yes the OEM Box Side Steps will fit with Bushwacker's pocket style fender flares. They have about 5/8" clearance in the retracted position.

PS: when the step extends, the linkage just touches the bottom of the flare but nothing to be alarmed about.
