Default Box Light

Hey Guys,

I have the box light bed light on my 2015 XLT and the dash switch turns on and off the bed lights but there is also a switch near the tailgate to turn the light on and off.

It was not working so I pulled the switch out and it appears someone cut the wires and there are just two short wire leads coming off the switch. I found the main wire harness in the fender and it has a single wire coming off of it.

My question is that it appears the box light comes in a complete kit. Does anyone have any advice just to wire that switch back up? Not sure if I can wire the single wire lead to the two wires off of the switch or if it needs some kind of connector for this.

If anyone has any advice or experience with this it would be greatly appreciated as I would use this feature.

Thanks,

Shawn

According to the attached wiring diagram, the switch should have a wht/blu and a blk/yel for ground. If the single wire you see in the harness is the wht/blu, you can run a ground wire and tap the blk/yel into the common ground at the light as shown.
