Default Box led Iights....

So I have a 2018 XLT Sport with boxlink and LED’s equipped already. My question is, is there a way to have the bed Leds come on when I open the tailgate or unlock the truck? It’s not a huge issue to hit the button on the inside of the truck (when I remember) but was wondering if there was a way to do this?

There is no easy FORScan way, It would require either rewriting BCM code or reworking at least two wiring harnesses and the addition of a tailgate ajar switch of some sort. Depending on how it is wired, the bed switch would then also turn on the interior lights or not work at all. In my opinion this would not be worth the effort.

doubt there is a tailgate switch or we would get tailgate open messages in our dashed or something. it would have to be completely custom. have to add a switch similar to a hood pin switch or something.

Yes there isn't an OE tailgate switch. Hasn't been since early MY2016. You can add a switch. It would be a custom install. There are several threads on this topic.

Just with the button in the cab or rewiring.

A few have rewired, or looked into rewiring. I do not remember if anybody has sorted it out though.
