Default Body Control Module

Hello! Newbie to the forum. Wondering if any else experienced this? New years night(11:30) hear a horn blaring outside, awoke to thinking “ someone got an Issue. Turned out to be my truck in the driveway! Definitely a wtf moment.. remote started it, hoping it would stop.. nope. Scrambled for wrenches to disconnect the battery. Dealt with it the next day. Removed horn fuse & reconnect the battery. Put fuse back in & all good. FF 2 weeks again Horn start’s blaring randomly again. Same sequence but Horn kept blaring after fuse reinstall. Took to my independent repair shop and traced to the module, said it had to go to the Dealer. Less than 60k in this thing. Has treated me well so far ( bought in 17) not sure if it’s relevant but, lost a TPI sensor after that but… ironically started working again. Thoughts? Thanks

Sounds like a water leak where water is getting into the BCM or BCM wiring. Pull all the connectors at the BCM and check for water and corrosion. Do you have a Vista Roof?

Thanks for the Reply, No Vista roof. Couldn’t tell you where the module even is as I’ve given up on my own repairs plus my independent garage is awesome ( n/c for the diagnostics cause” we couldn’t fix it) Just reaching out to what to expect from the Dealer..

BCM is behind the passenger side kick panel. Even without a roof opening there are ways for water to get into the BCM. Cowl leak, windshield leak, and GPS antenna leak come to mind.
