Bluetooth media connecting to Sync
2019 Lariat Special edition, just updated my Sync to the latest to try and fix this but it still not working right. Sometimes Ill get in my truck and the screen will say "media not available" or something like that. The phone will connect right away, but the "media" will not, I have to go sources>bluetooth>connect device media then back out and select bluetooth as the audio device I want to use. Anyone else had this? My phone is a iPhone 13.
might be your phone - being new or so new there is a disparity. I don't Iphone but I have a new android. I have the occasionally issue where it connects to it but won't assume it as the audio source. It'll blank and default to FM radio. It took a while but I find it matters if I remote start or not - as once started and I open the door. the Infotainment (sync 3) lights up and boots - and during that time the link is made and it remembers.
If I key start and it goes though the sequence - I'm already in reverse - some times it forgets in the middle and acts odd. It's taken me a month with the new device to recognize this pattern.
I wonder if it's a minor compatibility thing OH and mine is a 2017. But new device is throwing for bt 5.1 and the sync 3 is looking for a BT 4.0 handshake. I think. which might take a bit longer. It's a hunch no good way to confirm.
OH one other thing - depends on if I have the media app running when I get in the car. IE I use qobuz for tunes and if it's not open or hasn't been open when I got to get in the car - That also contributes to the delay.
now if I plug in and use android auto - automatic connect and clean.
